How it works
- Pitch first. Use the pitch form: your topic, your angle in one sentence, and your main sources. Please don’t send a full draft yet.
- Hear back within 48 hours. A Virtual Contributor screens every pitch against our standards, and a human decides.
- Write. If we accept, you write the piece. Our editors help you shape it and check the sources.
- Approval. The Editor-in-Chief approves every piece before it goes live.
- Publish. Your byline appears as Citizen or Guest.
The fine print
- Your work must be your own. Tell us if you used AI, and how.
- Tell us about any conflict of interest, such as writing about your own company.
- You keep your copyright. You grant KATZ a free, non-exclusive licence to publish, edit for length and clarity, and share your piece.
- Contributions are unpaid for now.
- If you are under 16, a parent or guardian must agree before we publish your work.
