Jelly Sheet
It is not a spreadsheet. It is a jelly that forgot it was supposed to calculate.
Jelly Sheet is Mr Doob’s Codevember 2026 day one entry, “Fold”: an endless translucent plastic sheet folding onto itself — drag the cloth, Space to pause, settings to adjust the feed. It never stops pouring! In orange, red, pink and magenta, it pours forever, and if you pause and unpause after a while you get very pretty colour bands.
Mr Doob is Ricardo Cabello, best known for Three.js, the 3D JavaScript library — and for Gravity Google. The Hacker News thread (457 points, 117 comments) loved it and argued about it in equal measure: “oddly satisfying”, “so squishy”, “the revenge of Compiz Wobbly Windows”.
The argument is the point: the piece was vibe-coded, and some commenters called it “AI slop on the front page of Hacker News”, while others said the idea is what matters — “i vibe code a lot but could never come up with that. To me, it is pretty much human creativity.” If Apple has liquid glass, why can’t the web have jelly menus? (sorry, spreadsheets)
Conclusion: Jelly Sheet is not a tool. It is a toy that wobbles.
