Harvey Has Not Closed Its Round. The Market Has Already Priced It.
Harvey has not closed its funding round. The market has already priced it like it has.
The legal AI startup is in advanced talks to raise at least $500 million at a $15.5 billion valuation, with Lightspeed Venture Partners set to lead — roughly 40% above the $11 billion mark it set in March. Annualised revenue has passed $350 million, up more than 80% from $190 million in January.
The product is unglamorous and lucrative: AI assistants that draft, review and research for law firms, built by founders Winston Weinberg, a former litigator, and Gabe Pereyra, a former DeepMind researcher. Five months after its last round, Harvey is worth nearly half as much again.
Conclusion: Harvey is not a law firm with software, but rather software that bills like a law firm — and investors are paying accordingly.
