A robot that walks, crawls, and then simply flies away
Arkshel Robotics has unveiled the MX01, which the Shenzhen company calls the world’s first flying transformable humanoid robot. It walks like a person, crawls like a dog, and then, when the ground gives up, it flies.
The MX01 transforms between humanoid, quadruped and aerial configurations. As a humanoid it does dexterous work in human spaces; as a quadruped it carries heavier loads over rough terrain; with its flight module attached, it clears obstacles and reaches places the ground cannot. A wheeled configuration is in development.
The claim is the company’s own, and it comes with the usual caveats: no payload, endurance, transformation time or price has been published, and the unveiling showed testing footage, not a product on a shelf. The seed round, backed by CDF Capital and Hengqin IDC, is almost complete.
Still, the ambition is unmistakable. One machine, three bodies, and a refusal to choose between them.
Conclusion: the MX01 is not a robot with a trick, but rather a robot that refuses to admit the ground is the limit.
