Morocco Bets on Nineteen Startups Before GITEX Africa
Morocco has stopped waiting for the future to arrive. It is building it, nineteen startups at a time.
On 6 April, in Casablanca, the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform launched the second cohort of the Morocco Accelerator. Nineteen Moroccan startups were selected, including companies from the diaspora.
The sectors read like a checklist of the modern economy. Fintech. Artificial intelligence. Healthtech. Agritech. Deeptech.
Technopark Morocco runs the programme with Plug and Play, the global platform active in more than seventy cities. Selected startups receive mentoring, investor access, and market development support. GITEX Africa in Marrakech is their first major international stage.
The target is growth, not beginnings. The programme backs startups already in a growth phase, with scale-up, market access, and international networks as its stated aims.
This is not a showcase, but rather a sorting machine. Nineteen bold bets, one continent watching, and a country that would rather export founders than import answers.
