DevNet Is Dead; Long Live Automation
Cisco renamed the exam, and in doing so renamed the job.
From 3 February 2026, DevNet certifications evolve into an Automation track: CCNA Automation, CCNP Automation, CCIE Automation. Active DevNet certifications migrate automatically. No re-test, no lost credential, just a new name on the same achievement.
The details are tidy. CCNP Automation carries major exam-topic updates; CCNA and CCIE Automation exam topics do not change. The exams are 200-901 v1.1 and 350-901 v2.0. DevNet Expert holders keep their numbers; CCIE holders get CCIE Automation added to their record.
Cybersecurity gets the same treatment. The former CyberOps certifications fold into CCNA and CCNP Cybersecurity, aligning security with the same naming tiers as the rest of the portfolio.
Certificates, consolidated and clarified. The message to network engineers is plain: automation is no longer a specialism bolted onto networking. It is networking.
Conclusion: the overhaul is not a rebrand, but rather a recognition — networking is now automation, officially.
