India's December Startup Diary: Delhi Pitches, Kerala Beaches
India’s startup scene did not wind down in December. It turned up the volume.
Inspire India 2025 filled Pragati Maidan in New Delhi on December 5-7 with entrepreneurs, investors and international innovators. Pitching sessions, workshops and panels covered biotech, fintech and deep tech. Government-backed TIDE 2.0 and NASSCOM helped connect early-stage founders with mentors, investors and ecosystem partners.
Huddle Global 2025 offered the beachside answer. Hosted with Kerala Startup Mission, it gathered angels, mentors, government officials and industry leaders for funding strategies, global expansion and policy frameworks. Defence-tech, manufacturing and emerging technology startups found openings through iDEX and Make in India.
The month is not a slowdown, but rather a showcase. India counted over 201,000 DPIIT-recognised startups, more than 21 lakh jobs, and 44,000 new startups in 2025 alone. Overall funding reached $10.5-11 billion, with early-stage deals rising to $3.9 billion. December proved the point with pitching, panels and parties: maturity can still make noise.
