The Robot Workforce Has Clocked In
Verdict: the robot workforce has clocked in.
UBTECH has begun mass production and delivery of the first batch of several hundred Walker S2 humanoid robots. The units will deploy in phases across frontline industrial applications, from automotive lines to smart factories and logistics.
The numbers are industrial, not experimental. Orders for the Walker series already exceed 800 million yuan, roughly US$112 million. The target is 500 units delivered within the year, 5,000 a year by 2026, and 10,000 by 2027.
Walker S2 is built for the factory floor, not the showroom. It runs UBTECH’s BrainNet platform and Co-Agent, an intelligent agent system that understands intentions, plans tasks, uses tools and handles anomalies on its own.
The customers are household names in Chinese industry: BYD, Geely, FAW-Volkswagen, Foxconn and SF Express.
Humanoid robots were long a demo. This is a delivery schedule. The future of factory labour has arrived, and it does not take lunch breaks.
